For a guild as diverse as ours it has always been a priority to do our best to include everyone. This mantra played some part in the selection of this year's convention location. Germany is the center of Europe in more ways than one, and has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and social life. The specific location of Karlsruhe also allows for some very interesting travel logistics which we will attempt to take advantage of. Karlsruhe is strategically located near two of Germany's biggest metropolies of Stuttgart and Frankfurt. The area offers a unique plethora of experiences in shopping, history, and nightlife. The Staedel Museum, St. Bartholomew Cathedral, Mainkai Street, Karlsruhe Palace, to name a few. We sincerely hope you will make the trip and contribute to this becoming an even greater convention than last year.
Most airports in Europe have easy connections to Amsterdam's airport of Schiphol. It is the plan for some of the guildies to fly into Amsterdam and meet up, only to continue the journey as a road trip towards Karlsruhe. For now, two-three cars have been filled. If more guildies choose to take this route, more vehicles may need to be rented, along with arrangements for a volunteer guildie as driver. If this travel route does not appeal to you, there are connecting flights from Schiphol (AMS) to Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden (KJR). The rental costs for car(s) will be split evenly among all guildies participating in the road trip-part of the trip. Don't worry, we will ensure they are air conditioned.
Departure from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol airport to Karlsruhe by car will be at 13:00 (CEST) on Friday June 23rd.
Arrival back at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol will be no earlier than 16:00 (CEST) on Monday June 26th. International travelers are encouraged to show up at the airport 2 hours before their departure time.
Book your flights accordingly.
